Funded childcare

for 2,3 and 4 year olds

There are now three government-funded early education schemes that offer funded childcare for children aged two, three and four:

  • 15 hours free education and childcare for 2-year-olds

  • 15 hours free childcare for all 3 and 4-year-olds (universal entitlement)

  • 15/30 hours free childcare for eligible 2, 3 and 4 year-olds (working parents)

 

Applications are now open for 15 hours of free childcare for 2-year-olds of working parents. More information on the eligibility conditions and how to apply is available on the GOV UK website.

Woodlands Preschool – Fees & Funding Schedule

Woodlands Preschool delivers Government-funded early education in accordance with guidance issued by the Department for Education and Cheshire West and Chester Council.

Funded hours include staffing, premises, learning resources, and supervision during funded sessions.

Where sessions are funded, the fee charged is £0.00.

No mandatory consumable or top-up fees are charged.

Important Assurance

Access to funded early education is never conditional on payment of optional extras.

​

Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP)

Some children may be eligible for Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP), which provides additional funding to support learning and development.

​

EYPP funding is paid directly to the setting and is used to enhance educational provision, resources, or targeted support for eligible children.

​

Eligibility may apply if a child:

  • Is currently eligible for certain benefits, or

  • Has previously been in local authority care (looked-after or previously looked-after child)

​​

Parents who think they may be eligible are encouraged to speak confidentially to the Manager for further information and support with checking eligibility.
